Summer University 2014
An integral part of the project ALTECS is a three week long Summer University. From July 28th to August 15th 2014 28 students – 16 students from Austria and 12 students from the Slovak Republic – had the opportunity to advance their knowledge about sustainable regional development in lectures, seminars and excursions.
The program of the ALTECS Summer University covered a variety of topics concerning future-oriented regional development. This included topics such as ‘Sustainability Transitions’, ‘Organic Agriculture’ and ‘Innovation and Entrepreneurship’. The working language was English.
In the course of the Summer University the students, together with 14 Austrian as well as Slovak small and medium sized enterprises, developed solutions to concrete problems, and could thus gain a deep understanding of real-world challenges of sustainable regional development.
The projects developed by the students are further implemented in the months following the Summer University until November 2014.
