INEX is an Austrian social enterprise, working in the field of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). INEX operates based on a network structure, with a multi-stakeholder Advisory Board, an Ambassador Network and Alumni Association. Partners include Universities, research institutes and think tanks, companies from various industries, supranational organizations, ministries and NGOs. Together with this broad range of experts INEX is focusing on the attainment of the United Nations Millennium Development
 Goals and works within the framework of the UNESCO Decade for Education on Sustainable Development.

University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (Boku)

The University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU), the Alma Mater Viridis, sees itself as an education and research centre for renewable resources which are a necessity for human life. With its wide range of areas of expertise it is the task of BOKU to contribute significantly to the protection of life resources for future generations. With a connection between natural sciences, engineering and economics, BOKU is trying to deepen the knowledge of an ecologically and economically sustainable use of natural resources in a cultivated landscape.

Sustainable Europe Research Institute (SERI)

SERI’s mission is to carry out applied sustainability research and to provide holistic answers for questions addressing such challenging issues concerning climate change and resource scarcity from a social, environmental and economic perspective. As an important part of its work, SERI measures human resource use and analyses how the use of different resources (such as water, land, metals or minerals) can be improved, for example in the production of goods and services, by industries or countries as a whole. SERI’s activities focus on the transformation of Europe in its local, national and global context and are implemented in a framework revolving around European, national and international research and cooperation projects. The organization’s vision of sustainability means enjoying life through a conscious approach to dealing with oneself, one another and our natural environment.

Umweltdachverband

Umweltdachverband is an environmental umbrella organization of 39 environmental NGO’s in Austria. Umweltdachverband worked successfully in various projects for regional governments and ministries at national and international level. Public relations work is one of the core competences of the Umweltdachverband. This includes the organization of conferences, networking with decision makers, scientists and experts as well as publications in reputable professional journals. As environmental NGO Umweltdachverband concentrated in building up competences in the thematic areas of sustainability, climate policy, rural development, water and nature conservation policy. As environmental organization Umweltdachverband has been working in the field of nature conservation for many years. The dedication to areas of conflict between politics, economy and ecology is reflected by various projects in cooperation with ministries or federal states.

United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)

UNEP’s mission is to provide leadership and encourage partnership in caring for the environment by inspiring, informing, and enabling nations and peoples to improve their quality of life without compromising that of future generations. In Vienna UNEP hosts the Interim Secretariat of the Carpathian Convention, an out posted office of UNEP’s Regional Office for Europe specialized on the Carpathian Convention, on mountain ecosystems and on environmental programme delivery in South East Europe.

GLOBAL 2000 is Austrias leading independent enviornmental organisation. As active partner of Friends of the Earth International (FOEI) we fight for the environment, a sustainable society and sustainable economy and buisness.
GLOBAL 2000 observes consequent and critically the development of environmental policy in Austria and there impact on our daily live.

RCE Global Network and Community

Additionally to the local partners the RCE Vienna works within the RCE Global Network and its hundreds of partners. Its partnership with UNESCO, the designated lead agency for the United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development (2005-2014), is among its most significant. The RCE Network also works closely with the Ubuntu Alliance, a group of 14 of the world’s foremost educational and scientific institutions that together signed the Ubuntu Declaration at the Johannesburg Summit in 2002.
